reconfiguring a network Essay

reconfiguring a network Essay reconfiguring a network Essay New User Guide & Basic Troubleshooting Guide Table of Contents Network Login and Passwords There are two separate networks on the campus, and they require separate logins. The admin network is only available in the Instructor area and admin offices. Administration To log into the admin network you will use your 1ITT email as your username. You will also be given a password to use for your initial login. Once you have successfully logged in with the initial password, you will be required to change that password. Your new password must meet the following complexity requirements: Passwords must be at least 8 characters and a maximum of 16 Must contain at least three of the following Lower-case characters: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvqxyz Upper-case characters: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ Numbers: 0123456789 Special Characters: !@#$%^*()-_=+;:,./?`~ Users are required to choose passwords that are difficult to guess. Password must not be easily deducible words or characters such as the user’s first or last name, spouse’s name, name of pet, a sequence of numerals or letters, or any word found in a standard English dictionary. Passwords should never be written down Users must not write down or otherwise record their passwords in readable form near the system to which the password pertains. For example, a user must not write his/her network password on a note and tape it to his/her computer. Passwords must not be written down and left in a place where others might discover it. If a password must be written down, it must be secured and far away from the system to which it pertains. In general, users must choose passwords that are challenging for others to guess but easy for them to remember, so users do not feel compelled to write down a password in order to remember it. Display and printing of passwords The display and printing of passwords must be masked, suppressed, or otherwise obscured so that unauthorized parties will not be able to observe or subsequently recover them. Electronic storage of passwords in readable form Passwords must not be stored in plain text or in other readable forms in places where unauthorized parties might recover them, including, but not limited to: batch files; login scripts; computers without access control; terminal function keys; or in software macros. Use of same password prohibited While the specific generation retention depends on the computer system, users on all systems are prohibited from re-using a password when prompted to change it by the system. Suspected disclosure forces password changes If a user suspects or knows that their password integrity has been compromised, it must be changed immediately. Password sharing prohibition Regardless of the circumstances, passwords must never be shared or revealed to anyone else besides the authorized user. To do so exposes the authorized user to responsibility for actions that the other party takes with the password. If users need to share computer resident data, they must use electronic mail, public directories on local area network servers and other authorized mechanisms as appropriate. No user should ever use another person’s login for any reason Limit on consecutive unsuccessful attempts to enter a password To prevent password guessing attacks, the number of consecutive attempts to enter an incorrect password must be strictly limited. After three unsuccessful attempts to enter a password, the involved user ID must be suspended for thirty minutes or until reset by a system administrator. Password Reset If you have forgotten your network password or suspect that your account has been compromised, the SST can reset your password. IRIS passwords require a Service request through the SST. IRIS password resets may take up to a day to be changed. Pinnacle password resets are handled through the Dean. If you’re reading this article, you're probably planning to apply to schools that require or recommend the submission of Subject Test scores. In most of these cases, it’s best to take one Subject Test in the sciences and one in the humanities to show a range of skills. Think about your goals, interests, and academic strengths before making a final decision on which science Subject Test you'll take.Chemistry is a great option for some students, but it might be less ideal for others. Here are tworeasons to choose Chemistry as one of your SAT Subject Tests: Reason 1: You Just Took a Chemistry Class (and You Still Need a Science Subject Test) The following are the College Board’s recommendations for prerequisites before taking the Chemistry Subject Test: One-year introductory college-preparatory course in chemistry One-year course in algebra Experience in the laboratory If you just took a chemistry class (especially if it was AP), you probably won’t need to do much studying for the Subject Test. The best time to take anySubject Test is in the spring when you’re just finishing up a related class. Reason 2: You’re Super Interested in Chemistry Do you think you might be a chemistry major in college? Do you have a knack for the subject?Taking the Subject Test is a good way to demonstrate your passion. If you have other achievements in high school that are related to chemistry, taking the Subject Test will help you present an even clearer picture of your goals and interests to colleges. A glimpse into your future. Or is it...your past? *cue Twilight Zone theme* What’s on the Chemistry SAT II? Here’s a brief content overview of the Chemistry SAT Subject Test. I’ve listed the topics in descending order according to their prevalence on the test: Topic Percentage of Test Structure of matter (atomic structure, molecular structure, bonding) 25% States of matter (gases, liquids and solids, solutions) 16% Reaction types (acids and bases, oxidation-reduction, precipitation) 14% Stoichiometry (mole concept, chemical equations) 14% Descriptive chemistry (periodic trends, nomenclature, predicting products of reactions) 12% Lab practices (equipment and measurements, scientific method, data interpretation) 8% Thermochemistry (calorimetry, enthalpy and phase changes, entropy) 6% Equilibrium and reaction rates (equilibrium systems, rates of reactions) 5% The College Board also breaks down questions by skill on this Subject Test: Skill Percentage of Test Application of knowledge 45% Synthesis of knowledge 35% Fundamental concepts and knowledge 20% The most common questions, at 45 percent of the test, are application of knowledge questions. These questions ask you to apply your knowledge of chemistry to scenarios presented on the test. Synthesis of knowledge questions, at 35 percent of the test, will ask you to draw conclusions based on data provided by the test as well as your background knowledge of chemistry. Only twenty percent of questions test fundamental concepts and knowledge. These questions are focused on basicfactual recall. To break down these skills even further, questions will test your: Understanding of the major concepts of chemistry and ability to apply principles to solve specific problems Ability to organize and interpret results from observation and experimentation, and to draw conclusions or make inferences from experimental data, including data presented in graphs and/or tables Laboratory experience and familiarity with the metric system Ability to handle simple algebraic relationships and apply these to solving word problems Familiarity with the concepts of ratio, direct and inverse proportions, exponents, and scientific notations Most of the test involves analysis and data interpretation. As I mentioned earlier, eighty percent of questions require either application or synthesis of knowledge, and only twenty percent are straightforward â€Å"what is this† type questions. In the next section, I’ll provide examples of the various question formats you'll see on the test. Question Formats on the Chemistry Subject Test The College Board groups questions on the Chemistry SAT Subject Test into three different formats: Format 1: Five-Choice Completion These are what I would consider â€Å"normal† multiple choice questions. They're stand-alone questions that simply ask you to choose the correct answer out of five choices. In some cases, you'll geta list of threestatements labeled with roman numerals and will be asked to decide which ones are true (if any). Here’s an example of a question in that format: Before looking at the answer choices, we need to go through each of the statements and decide which ones are true based on the diagram: Statement I appears to be true because the exposed mercury surface is open to the air. There wouldn't be any pressure besides atmospheric pressure pushing down on that side. Statement II also appears to be true because the mercury level on the right side of the manometer is higher than the level on the left side. Statement III is not true because the pressure of the gas wouldn’t be equal to h, it would be equal to the atmospheric pressure PLUS h.H is just the difference between the two pressures. Now that we’ve decided only I and II are true, we can bubble in answer choice C! Format 2: Classification For these types of questions, you'll see one list of choices that applies to a group of several questions. Each choice can be used more than once or not at all.In other words, your answer to any individual question could also be the answer to other questions in a given group. Here’s an example: As you can see, questions that are formatted this way tend to be more straightforward. They're just identification questions. For this one, you need to understand how compounds are named and what their atomic symbols are. Answers: A C A In this case, one of the choices was used twice. This happens frequently, so don’t freak out if you think a choice applies to more than one question in the group. Format 3: Relationship Analysis This is the weirdest type of question you’ll see on the test. Each question is comprised of two statements that are connected to each other by the word â€Å"BECAUSE.†The format is â€Å"This process or property occurs because of this fundamental chemical fact.†Here’s an example: The first step is deciding whether each part of the statement is true or false. If both or either of the statements are false, you can ignore the Correct Explanation (CE) circle. If they're both true, you may have to fill in the special CE circle. However, that will not always be the case, so consider the logic of the full statement carefully even if both parts are true! There will be a special section labeled â€Å"Chemistry† in the lower left-handcorner of your answer sheet where you can fill in your responses to these questions. It looks like this: Your responses will look something like this: As you can see, for sample question 103, both statements are true, but the CE circle is left un-bubbled.Potassium has a lower first ionization energy than lithium, meaning it’s easier for the one electron in its outer shell to get pulled away.Lithium’s unpaired electron is closer to the nucleus, so it’s held more tightly by the nucleus' gravitational pull. The first statement is definitely true. Now let’s look at the second statement in isolation: â€Å"potassium has more protons in its nucleus than lithium has.†This is also true.Potassium has 19 protons, and lithium only has three. Both statements are true on their own, but now we have to decide whether the second statement is a correct explanation of the first. In this case, it isn't! The ionization energy doesn’t increase based on the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom. It’s a factor of how loosely held and how far away from the nucleus the outermost electrons of the atom are.Atoms that hold unpaired electrons that are farther away from the nucleus will have lower first ionization energies. For lithium and potassium, both have unpaired electrons in their outermost orbitals, but potassium has a lower ionization energy because its electrons are farther away from the nucleus (4s orbital vs. 2s orbital). It’s about proximity to the nucleus, not number of protons. The CE oval should stay blank! Here are some electrons zooming around the nucleus of a particularly groovy atom. Where to Find Chemistry Subject Test Practice Materials Here I'll list a few different resources, both in print and online, that you can use to practice your skills for the SAT Subject Test in Chemistry. You should always return to official College Board questions (which you can find on the College Board website as the first listing under Online Resources) in your studying to verify that you're up to speed with the format of the test, but unofficial practice is still helpful for learning the content. You should have these tips in the back of your mind at all times as you review the material! Tip 1: Identify Your Weaknesses The Chemistry SAT II may test some information that your teacher didn’t cover in class.Review all the content areas listed above to make sure you have a handle on everything. It’s a smart idea to take a diagnostic test before you start studying to form a clearer picture of where your knowledge is lacking. I'd recommend using one that comes directly from the College Board so that the content and format of the test is represented accurately. Tip 2: Replicate Test Conditions When you answer practice questions and take practice tests, adhere to the same standards as the real test environment.Don't use a calculator, and have a periodic table on hand for reference. If you’re taking a full practice test, you should also time yourself.Sticking to appropriate test conditions is the only way to reliably estimate your score level! Tip 3: Plan Your Time Wisely Your studying timeline should be informed by how recently you learned the material in class and how well you perform on an initial diagnostic test. If you find that you need to improve by 150 points or more, plan to spend some extra time reviewing the material. I'd estimate about 20 hours of study time to get yourself up to speed - if you start two months in advance, that's just two hours a week. Not so bad! If you're already within 50 points or so of where you want to be, a quicker review should suffice. You could probably spend less than ten hours going over the material. Make sure you get to a point where you feel very confident with the question formats in case nervousness interferes with your performance (which brings me to the next tip). Tip 4: Practice Relationship Analysis Questions Make sure you understand how these questions work prior to the test. They take a little bit of getting used to if you’ve never encountered them before.Try to use some practice resources that include these types of questions in addition to five-choice completion and classification questions. It's especially important to practice interpreting the statements together and on their own and keeping the two processes separate. That CE circle is a little bit tricky! Tip 5: Don't Go Overboard You should only study concepts that you know will be tested. There's no need to memorize a year's worth of material for an hour-long multiple-choice test. I'd recommend dividing your time equally between reviewing topics in your notes and doing practice questions that replicate the format of the subject test. The biggest challenge for you may be time rather than background knowledge, especially if you're fresh out of a chemistry class. You shouldn't focus too much on memorizing all your chemistry notes and doing involved practice problems. Remember, you can't even use a calculator on this test, so you won't have to solve any elaborate math problems. "What's that weird squiggly?" and "Why are there little numbers next to the letters?" are both questions you should be able to answer before taking this Subject Test. 4 Test-Taking Tips for SAT Chemistry This section lists four additional tips that you can implement as you take practice tests (and, ultimately, when you sit down for the real thing). Tip 1: Stay Calm Since you can’t use a calculator on the test, many of these questions involve combining common sense with basic chemistry knowledge. If you come across a question about a diagram or experimental scenario that you’ve never seen before, don’t freak out. Just read the question carefully. In almost all of these cases, you’ll find that your existing knowledge is enough to guide you to the correct answer. Even if you don't fully understand what’s going on in the experiment, if you have a solid understanding of chemistry, you can make deductions to arrive at the solution. Tip 2: Do the Easiest Classification Questions First When you get to a group of classification questions, answer the ones that seem obvious first so you're using your time efficiently.Don’t feel like you have to complete them in order. If you get the easy ones out of the way in ten seconds, you’ll have more time to think about the questions in the group that are more challenging for you. Tip 3: Read Relationship Analysis Questions Methodically Relationship Analysis questions are different from most questions on SAT Subject Tests, so they can be confusing.Read carefully, and decide whether each stand-alone statement is true before thinking about whether the second statement is a correct explanation of the first. You'll save yourself some time if you find that one of the statements is false (and makes the CE bubble irrelevant)! Tip 4: Don’t Guess Randomly As I mentioned in the first section of this article, the guessing penalty still exists on SAT Subject Tests. This means that you need to avoid guessing if you have no clue which answer choice is correct.Guessing is only advisable if you can narrow down your choices to four or fewer possibilities.Otherwise, you’re better off leaving the question blank. Come back here, metaphor for the correct answer choice! Conclusion TheSAT Chemistry Subject Test is an hour-long multiple-choice examthat contains 85 questions and is scored out of 800. It's offered on all the regular SAT test dates except March. Topics on the test include: Structure of matter States of matter Reaction types Stoichiometry Descriptive chemistry Lab practices Thermochemistry Equilibrium and reaction rates Most questions will test your ability to analyze different experimental scenarios and draw conclusions. The questions come in three formats: Five-choice completion Classification Relationship analysis When you study for the test, five tips to keep in mind are: Identify your weaknesses Replicate real testing conditions Plan out your studying wisely Practice lots of relationship analysis questions Don't over-study When you take the test (or a full practice test), you should be sure to: Stay calm Do easier classification questions first Read carefully on relationship analysis questions Avoid guessing unless you're down to just two choices Use the online resources and review books listed in this article to brush up on your skills. You should have no problem acing this test if you know what to expect! What's Next? Get started on your chemistry reviewing with our guide to balancing chemical equations. An analysis of the business communication skills needed by entry-level Assignment - 1

An analysis of the business communication skills needed by entry-level accountants - Assignment Example The results of this survey have shown that communication skills are essential especially for new hires. The study notes that the major important communication skills that are required by the new graduates include spelling, grammar, punctuation as well as writing clearly and precisely. This helps the new accountants to be in a position to achieve the desired goals especially with regards to information exchange with their targeted audiences. The study has noted that new accountants often lack basic communication skills such as writing and this often impacts negatively on their performance since there are chances that they may be rated as poor though it may not be the case. To a larger extent, this study is authentic given that there is no work that can be done without communication. Workers exchange views and ideas through the use of different communication styles that range from verbal to nonverbal communication, written as well as listening strategies. In order to be effective in co mmunication, each individual should be conversant in one or all of the communication skills outlined above. The other important aspect why communication is vital in the accounting profession is that the accountants are in a better position to give instructions to their workmates. The employees are also in a position to create mutual understanding among themselves if they communicate effectively. This can be achieved through the use of effective communication skills where the communicators are clear and precise in whatever they say.

Any topics - Essay Example Understanding Human Behavior and the Social Environment by Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman (2010) is an investigative study article post by the means of idealism research that applies specific psychosocial early childbearing and pregnancy predictors within a single reproductive woman risks factor (Ramsay and Gennady, P. 14). The article uncovers vividly through extensive discussion multivariate Eriksonian developmental perspective approach for nurses to integrate unique of an unaltered body of mothers of reproductive age. In Ideal environment, the article denotes both quantitative and empirical for of research technique with much utilization of a mail survey to evaluate the evaluative behavior, aspiration factors and psychosocial well-being of reproductive mothers. The article employs a sample population of 2635 participants aged 18 to 20 years selected from the Australian longitudinal study of the survey undertaken for women health (Ramsay and Gennady, P. 16). The article generation is based on the reality that, women of reproductive age psychological factors play a significant role in managing and understanding early childbearing and pregnancy risk issues in women of reproductive age. The research findings presented in the article provide nurses with opportunities to investigate and evaluate the process. In simple terms, the article provides the means of effective nursing interventions or nursing care plan (Ramsay and Gennady, P. 22). The means effective nursing intervention provided by the article helps nursing professions in achieving the best nursing practice in the care of early pregnancy and childbearing women based on the Eriksonian Developmental point of view. The article’s study exploits Erikson psychological development theoretical framework that has been understudied in longitudinal nursing research. Of Mice and Men Assignment Essay Example for Free

Of Mice and Men Assignment Essay Q. With reference to chapter four, what do you learn about prejudice and injustice in 1930s America? Of Mice and Men was set around the 1930s in California, America; where at the time of this classic novel was located. The New York Wall Street stock market had hit an all time low which led to and helped contribute to The Great Depression. Unemployment had hit and harsh poverty too had meant that migrant workers travelled to California in search of work. As the paragraph continues, we learn that the living conditions and working conditions were very poor. Workers couldnt do their jobs properly and were always worried about being canned as they say. Living conditions werent very good either; the ranches were very dirty, compact etc. I believe that Steinbeck wrote this novel because of his past experiences. He was a labourer, he worked very hard, the characters in this book can relate to Steinbeck himself, he wanted to express his views for everyone to see. Also, you can really tell that in Steinbecks opinion he is in favour of the workers in this novel. He being a labourer sways his views as in favour of the workers; you can tell he really thought The Great Depression was an awful experience to be involved in. When you see what his characters are saying, they reveal his feelings and thoughts, give good and bad memories, only inside a book. As we are in chapter four, we learn many things about some of the main characters. At the very beginning, we learn about the relationship of some of the characters with each other. The scene is set in Crooks room, many of the men have gone to the cathouse which is basically a whore house; most of the men have gone but Crooks, Lennie, Candy and Curleys wife have not gone. The most probable reason for this is due to the fact that Crooks, is a black stable buck and also an outsider, Lennie was told not to go by George, Candy is a very old man and Curleys wife is a woman. Even though Lennie doesnt really understand, he stumbles across Crooks room and decides to go in. Lennie really sets this chapter alight; he breaks off the divide between black and white and wants to make friends with Crooks: Lennie smiled helplessly in an attempt to make friends. Despite not knowing he is doing it, he is helping out a divide of people and bringing it together. He is such an interesting character but he wouldnt really know that he is so different to the other characters. Noiselessly Lennie appeared in the open doorway and stood there looking in no one else in the bunkhouse would have had the guts to enter Crookss room although Lennie didnt really know he wasnt supposed to. Lennie does quite the opposite to the others, which makes him so astonishing. A major part in this chapter shows how the other characters act when he is around. His actions and works influence others to bring back memories of their childhoods and really open up to him. kI was born right here in California. My old man had a chicken ranch is one example of Crooks opening up to Lennie as he would do to no other person. The characters relax more with Lennie in reflection of this chapter. One more interesting thing in this section of the book is the way Lennie is and is not affected by prejudice and injustice. At one part, he is affected by prejudice and injustice as he witnesses it happening and is picked on by others; Listen Nigger, you know what I can do to you if you open your trap? This shows prejudice and injustice around him towards Crooks. On the other hand, he is not affected by it as he has George to protect him from it and also doesnt really understand what it is. A vast part of prejudice and injustice in his book is the way Crooks is treated. Crooks is a middle aged black man who has had to work hard all of his life. Sadly, his role on the ranch is an unfortunate one. He is not allowed in the bunkhouse at all, or play games with the other members or be with them at certain times. He lives way out of the way of everyone else in a small room and spends most of his time there. This really shows how black men were treated in this period of time. Luckily, Crooks is not treated as badly as he could have been. He has an education and can read and write which can and also cannot help him at times. For instance, he can understand what others are saying about him, which is not very good. They dont like him because of the colour of his skin. Listen Nigger. This shows the colour of his skin being used against him by Curleys wife. As Lennie enters the room, Crooks does not really want him to come in, You got no right to come into my room. Soon after, they get into conversation and are soon talking normally after opening up to each other like friends would. When Candy enters, he tells him he might as well come in as everyone else is. Soon, he joins in conversation too. Not until Curleys wife enters though, do we see a change in Crooks. He doesnt have any power over anyone in the ranch and soon goes back into his shell. Women were not treated well either, of course, but Curleys wife could say or do whatever she wanted to a black man, including Crooks. You know what I can do to you if you open your trap? This shows Curleys wife overpowering Crooks and unfortunately Crooks cannot do anything about it. With Crooks being educated and able to read, he has set himself real goals. He has learned how to cope with the bullying and racism and knows what to do. By not setting his goals too high, he does not expect anything too good, therefore does not mean he is too sad about what happens to him through his lie. Another person who plays a part in giving and experiencing racism is Curleys wife. She has certain powers compared to other women yet is still treated badly like other women. We learn that with women along with black people, had less power and were discriminated badly; therefore this shows that Curleys wife situation was similar to most other women, they were not respected and were treated badly. The men do not really like her in reflection, the likes of George, Crooks etc. dont really warm to her at any time. Her reaction to this is to snap at Crooks in this particular part of the book, she cannot take her anger out at anyone as she does not really have the power to apart from Crooks, so she bullies Crooks in this part, Well, you keep your place then, Nigger. I can get you strung up on a tree so easy it aint even funny. Curleys wife enters Crooks room with auction, she asks a question to which she knows the answer to, so she can join them, Any you boys seen Curley? shows this. In this chapter, we have to feel a bit sorry for her. We see how lonely she is at this time and since she is not allowed to be with anyone else, she cannot help herself looking for companionship. The reason behind her being so bitter about her life is simple; nothing has ever really gone right for her. By marrying Curley it has not helped her at all and she really thought she would make it as a Hollywood star, however, this did not turn out to be the life that she wanted, Think Im gonna lead with his left twice and then bring in the ol right cross? This piece shows her loneliness and her trouble which leads on to when she is told she is not wanted by the guys, she tells of her sadness and also decides to take it out on Crooks to help herself, it shows a similarity with Crooks, deprived of her rights and very lonely. Finally, the last person in this chapter to experience injustice and prejudice is Candy. A very old man, he was a typical old man who was not well liked, lonely and had a poor time of living with a bad job too. Candy, like most old men back then had a big worry of being canned as he was not really needed. There was no pension schemes or benefits, he would have had no where to go and would have probably just died. I planted crops for dam near everybody in this state, but they wasnt my crops, and when I harvested them, it wasnt none of my harvest. This shows Candy has worked very hard but does not have much and is not appreciated. The dream to have a place with George and Lennie means so much to him as if it does not happen, he will be eventually canned and have nowhere to go, You god dam right were gonna do it. This shows passion for the dream ranch. In truth, Candy is very similar to the dog he had. He, like the was old, not wanted and not of much use. This is very significant as you can see how much he was appreciated by everyone; not at all. In conclusion, we learn so much about life in the 1930s in America. We have four different accounts of people being treated unfairly and having injustice upon them. Lennie, Crooks, Curleys wife and Crooks all experience racism in some way. Lennie is abused for being quite clumsy and slow as well as being big, Crooks was racially abused for being old and black, Curleys wife is not liked because she is a woman and Candy is abused for being an old man. As you can see, there is not ethnic minority groups that escaped being abused; 1930s America was a racist and prejudice place to be. The writer Steinbeck is really sending a strong message out to the readers here. He tries to tell us all about how life could be if you were in a minority group. He repeats certain phrases and words to show enthusiasm of how bad it really was. All of his characters have strong points of view towards one another and really act as if they were real people. Basically, John Steinbeck shows that racism and injustice were strong in the 1930s and whoever you were, you could not really avoid it. Steinbeck gets this message across very well to the readers, by showing the characters different attitudes towards each other; most of the time there were not very pleasant. Whether you were black or white, male, female, disabled or anything else, you had a very good chance of either giving or being racially abused in America in the 1930s.

Promotional Mix for the Tide Racing Campaign Essay -- BTEC Business Ma

Promotional Mix for the Tide Racing Campaign There are hundreds of different ways top notch companies promote their products. When companies combine the many promotional methods used to promote a specific product, they represent the promotion mix for the product. The promotion mix is made up of four elements: advertising, personal selling, public relations, and sales promotion. Our assignment was to collect five items from the promotional mix in one campaign. Tom Utz works as a salesman for Proctor & Gamble. He works directly with the Nash Finch wholesaler based out of Minneapolis, MN, which owns several grocery chains such as Buy N’ Save, Albertson’s and Econo Foods. Tom specializes in selling laundry detergent soaps such as Tide, Gain, Era, and Cheer to Nash Finch retail stores. One of his biggest campaigns is selling Tide laundry detergent in the Tide Racing campaign. Advertising Advertising is a paid non-personal communication about an organization and its products transmitted to a target audience through mass media. Some examples are television, radio, newspapers, Internet, and direct mail. Proctor & Gamble’s most prominent form of advertising are television ads. Many people do not realize the products they use are even made by Proctor & Gamble. I have collected a Spanish direct mailing by Proctor & Gamble called â€Å"avanzando: con tu familia†, which means better living with your family. The magazine offers tips for using beauty products such as shampoo, make-up, deodorants, and toothpaste. It also offers advice for selling your home and cooking tips. The end of the direct mailing magazine has many coupons for purchasing the items they learned about. Proctor & Gamble hopes to get the consumer to try t... ...am include a t-shirt, hat, hot wheels car, water jug, and even a remote control car. These are all items donated by Proctor & Gamble to the retail stores in order to catch the attention of consumers. Thousands of people are willing to sign their names up for a chance to win in a free drawing. The drawings will benefit the company because they are getting their name and product featured, and the store benefits because it will lure customers into the store and extra purchases. This is a win-win situation for both parties. I have found various items from all four of the promotional mix elements. Effective promotional campaigns require a solid mix of items from the four elements. Companies seek to find the right variety from the four elements, and sometimes do not use all four elements. Tide racing uses all four items to promote their sponsorship with NASCAR.

Suez Crisis

Do you agree with the view that the Suez Crisis of 1956-57 did no damage to the fortunes of the Conservative party? The Suez Crisis which was aided by the French and Israelis wasn’t just a disaster for the Conservative party but Britain as a whole as it created lots of problems and tension internationally especially with the USA. To a certain extent the Conservative party did take some damage although the sources point out some other arguments which suggest it wasn’t just them who suffered. Source 5 & 6 both support the view that the Conservatives took no damage during the crisis.Lee states, ‘There was no internal split in the Conservative party’. Kilmuir agrees with this, and goes onto talk about, ‘Our most lost party workers, although dismayed by our handling of the situation were consumed with the hatred of the Labour party. ’ Which means even though they were going through a tough situation the Conservatives kept a strong front and were all in it together against Labour; even the media gave publicity in which spread the disgust to the public about the Labour party.Overall it shows Labour actually had it worse off; they weren’t popular with the public at the time, this later shows at the 1959 general election as Macmillan takes a victory for the Conservatives. On the other hand, Kilmuir was a member of the Conservatives at the time and he might have wanted to give the public the idea that the situation wasn’t as bad as it seemed as his party just caused a major international tensions with our allies.Although he does admit that, ‘Even the most hostile critics of the Conservative party’ had their doubtful moments in the party giving the idea that the party had nothing to hide and that its members knew there would be some slight internal tensions. Opposing the statement, in Source 4, Rowe tells us that after the Suez Crisis, ‘†¦there as a sharp economic crisis’ and that, Ã¢â‚¬Ë œPolitically, Eden was finished. ’. This was true about the economy as there was a international run on sterling, which threatened Britain with economic collapse with no hope of the USA willing to bale Britain out. There were further large withdrawals of deposits by international investors which lead to a major fall in Britain’s currency reserves. This of course damaged the Conservatives greatly as Britain was still trying to recover economically from WWII and this crisis set Britain back about 4 years economically according to an account from Gaitskell; being from the Labour party he may of exaggerated some of these numbers as he produced no evidence of his findings. It also did finish Eden apparently; as he was removed from the party but in Source 5 it says it was because of ‘ill health’ not because of the Crisis itself.People expected R. A. Butler to take over but as he wasn’t much help during the crisis when he took over from Eden. It was actuall y Macmillan who took control of the Conservatives. Showing the Conservatives they had to change their party structure because they had been damaged by leading Britain into this crisis. Overall, to a certain extent I disagree with the statement because I think that Eden was damaged significantly by the Suez Crisis as he lead Britain into some economic problems which left him politically finished. However, to a larger extent I agree with the statement that it did no damage to the fortunes of the Conservative party even though it had some short term damage at the beginning for example, Eden was removed and they had to shuffle the party leadership, Macmillan then saved the party and won the later 1959 General election with the increasing of public consumption resulting in a period of affluence whilst Labour was left in the gutter constantly in internal party feuds leaving the Conservatives victorious and prosperous.

Mother: The Most Important Person in My Life Essay

The most important in my life is my mother because she is really all I have, she is my motivation, and she helps me live through all my struggles. I wouldn’t be able now to enjoy this minute of my life writing this essay without my mother. My mother has brought me to this wonderful world. For nine months she carried me, she felt very bad, but did not refuse, and gave birth to me. My mom is the most positive and important influence on my life. Another reason why my mother is the most important person in my life is because she is always with me, when I’m happy and when I’m sad. She helps me with hard problems in my life, and she is glad for some good things I do. She helped me from the first, day I was born. She fed me; she didn’t sleep for many nights, only to make me comfortable. see more:imagine the world in 2050 She went for walks with me, and was always with me. From the first grade of my school, she helped me with my homework; she taught me how to behave. In addition, my mother is the most important person in my life because I am who I am, because of my mom. She always tries to make me a better person. From childhood, she bought a lot of books for me to read. She bought some intellectual games and that kind of stuff; I study hard to make her happy. I want her to be proud of me. I want her to feel, as I am the best child in the world, and as she is the best mom. I do everything for that. I behave myself very good in school, I don’t fight and I obey the rules. Unquestionably, my mother is the most important person in my life because she always supports me for my goals and ambitions, and that’s the key in pursuing my dream. My mother the most important individual in my life in fact that even though how many times we fight, she always makes me feel that I am the best gift she ever received from God. If I would have a chance to be born again, I would have chosen to be again her child. Child of the most important person in my life.

Telecommunications in Business essays

Telecommunications in Business essays Communication sets up relationships and makes organizing possible. Every message has a purpose or objective. The transmitter specifies whether consciously or unconsciously to accomplish something by communicating. In organizational circumstances, messages typically have a definite objective: to motivate, to inform, to teach, to persuade, to entertain, or to inspire. This purpose is, in fact one of the principle differences between casual conversation and managerial communication. Communication can be accidental (having no intent), expressive (resulting from the emotional state of the person), or rhetorical (resulting from specific goals of the communicator). Whatever the reasoning, grapevine communication occurs on several levels, Itrapersonal communication level, Interpersonal communication level, group communication level, organizational communication level, and the meta-communication level. In the article, Care and Feeling of the Organizational Grapevine, Patricia Karatha nos and Anthony Auriemmo, define ways in which all of these levels of communication, in a properly managed organizational grapevine, can be an effective means of communication and promote overall health of an organization. The first level, intrapersonal communication, takes place within the person. It includes such activities as thoughts processing, personal decision making, and persistence of self-concept. All communication takes place in the individuals mind when he/she is talking to self expressing either supportive and constructive or unfavorable and destructive ideas. Our ego-talks sometimes influence our communication with others because of our mind-sets. According to the article, a persons mind-set can have a lot to do with the misunderstanding and flowing of the messages throughout the grapevine. Depending on a persons mental state these, messages may either be bogie rumors or &q...

The Growth and Development of Civilization Essay

The Growth and Development of Civilization - Essay Example It must be noted that the significance of architecture, although perhaps disregarded by many analysts, is perhaps the most important single determinant of the representation of the 12th-century renaissance. This is due to the fact that architecture is one of the few aspects of human knowledge and representation that can instill and a level of awe in the subject and constrain/define behavior on the part of the societal stakeholder in a certain manner. Further, as a direct result of the increase in knowledge and the thirst for further understanding that could be gained with regards to the many subjects that came to be represented during the 12th century, the rise of the University was a further defining element through which this renaissance came to be reflected. Of all the information that is been put forward thus far, little emphasis has been placed with regards to the interpersonal levels of societal growth and evolution. Whereas architecture can instill a level of respect and pride in the society and the growth of science and technology that is able to represent such structures, these are ultimately impersonal aspects. By much the same token, the University experience and the acquisition of knowledge is something that, although it directly benefits society and the individual, is not necessarily engaged with interpersonal interaction nor promote a broader societal consciousness. However, as is definitively represented within the legends of King Arthur, an emphasis upon the codes of chivalry, romance, and courtly love is a prime element for the manner in which these stories are told and understood by the reader (Rydstrà ¸m-Poulsen 799). The ultimate significance of the institution of chivalry and the process of courtly love was not only as a means of providing a formalized structure through which interpersonal relations could take place.
